Falcone Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning is a third generation
firm whose history dates back to 1889. The firm originated as Mangrum
& Otter, a store that sold hardware, plumbing services, products and
tin that existed for over 116 years at 81-85 East Santa Clara St. in
downtown San Jose. This store was eventually bought by Charles Payne who
later sold it to to C. L. Snyder and Dubrutz in in the early 1920′s. A
short time later Mr. DuBrutz died and the name was changed to C. L.
Snyder Company
Charles J. Falcone began working for Snyder in the early 1940′s but,
soon began to provide his own services, operating from the garage of his
home on Cherry Ave. in Willow Glen. For three years Charles and his
wife Loretta stored everything from toilets to water heaters.
In 1945 Charles J. Falcone opened his own shop, Charles J. Falcone
Plumbing, at 715 Lincoln Ave. in Willow Glen. In 1966 Charles bought the
C.L Snyder Company from his old boss and the name was changed to
Falcone & Snyder Plumbing & Heating, Inc. Charles J. Falcone
eventually sold the business to his two sons, Charles P. Falcone and
David J. Falcone. Soon the two brothers split and Charles P. Falcone ran
the business until his death in 1992.
Today, Michael, the third generation son of Charles P. Falcone, runs the
business as Falcone Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning at 650
Lincoln Ave. #B in San Jose, CA 95126. Today the company provides
services for both residential and commercial plumbing, heating and air
conditioning.
